If you are expecting a story that is very realistic, you might be disappointed, but this is a classic Joe Pickett story. There is a grizzly attack of more than one person and everyone in the area is on edge. Wildlife teams are trying to track it when grizzly attacks start occurring across the state. Meanwhile, Dallas Cates has been released from prison. Joe helped put him away and Cates now is out for revenge. There are a few twists in the story that kept the the suspense going.
If you have read the books in the series then you know that they can be a bit “campy,” but that is part of the appeal. I listened to the audio version of the book. The reader, David Chandler, has become the voice of Joe Pickett in my mind and he does a great job. Did I like the story, Yep.
